Article 15 Box Office Day 3: Anubhav Sinha’s Film Has A Good Weekend, Almost Equals His Mulk Lifetime In Just 3 Days

Article 15 Box Office Day 3: These have turned out to be ‘achche din’ indeed for Anubhav Sinha. His Article 15 opened as per expectations [5.02 crores] and then went on to see a good jump on Saturday. Then on Sunday, too, it was quite stable as 7.50 crores* came in and that too when an important World Cup cricket match between India and England was being played. Though there was always a risk that the collections would be impacted, thankfully for the film the momentum was sustained.

In fact if not for the match, there was a chance that the film could have entered the double digits as well. Still, the numbers that have been reached so far are encouraging as well and the makers would be hoping that a bit of a shortfall on Sunday is covered during the weekdays.

The Ayushmann Khurranna starrer is unlike his several light-hearted successes from the past and is nothing like what he has done before. In fact, this one is a serious affair and still, there is a segment of audiences, especially in the big cities, which is patronizing the film. That has resulted in 19.77 crores* already been accumulated. It is good news indeed for Anubhav Sinha as his last release Mulk (with Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu in principle roles) had collected 21.10 crores in its lifetime and now Article 15 has almost equalled that in quick time.

Despite huge challenge been posed by Kabir Singh which is doing riotous business at the Box Office, Article 15 has managed to stand on its feet and now it is time to consolidate from here.
