Amongst the new releases last Friday, it was Nil Battey Sannata that saw maximum appreciation coming its way. While feedback from the industry was unanimous, courtesy numerous special screenings that were done prior to the release, even critical acclaim was good once the film hit the screens.
The film saw an (expected) ordinary start in theaters but grew over the weekend. It has managed to bring around 1.60 crores* at the Box Office and though in absolute numbers this is low, one waits to see how word of mouth continues to spread over the rest of the week, hence resulting in some stable collections.
Laal Rang had mixed reviews coming its way and the collections weren’t up to the mark either. The word of mouth couldn’t spread much either since the footfalls were quite low to begin with. As per initial estimates, the film brought in around 1.35 crore* in the opening weekend.
As for Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd., it had very limited shows for itself and absolute unawareness around the film meant that collections were miniscule too, and stayed around 50 lakhs*.
