However, after Zero, almost 2/3 of the year 2019 has gone by and she hasn’t signed even one film. Just like Shah Rukh Khan, while Anushka fans too are desperately waiting for a big announcement from the actress, she says that it was a conscious decision to take a break because she was feeling too worked up.
During a recent interview with Filmfare, Anushka said, “That’s a conscious decision. I wanted to take a couple of months off after Zero. After I got married, it was like a whirlwind. I was back on the sets shooting for Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and later Zero. I was just working back to back.”
Further talking about how she was trying hard to find time for her married life, she said, “Whatever time I’d get, I’d try to balance and meet Virat. But I was feeling too worked up. I needed to take two months off. I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now.”

She even opened up about the pressure of signing a new film from people around, “It’s important as a creative person to take time off but you deny yourself that. Of course, there’s pressure. You’re constantly asked, ‘Kaunsi film sign kar rahe ho?'” she said.
Meanwhile, Anushka has been a treat for her online fans because a lot of pictures of her with Virat have been going viral. Even if they couldn’t see her in films for months, they were content to see her happy and spending some personal time with husband.
Also, Anushka as a producer is working on her upcoming Netflix original titled Mai.
