Well you certainly have to be from another planet if you are not aware about the ever escalating tension between India and Pakistan.
However; singer Mika Singh seemed to not take note of the situation and was recently seen performing in Karachi at a high profile political wedding and was also reported to have been paid a whopping 1 crore for his performance as the bride is a big fan of the Mauja Hi Mauja singer!
As the singer performed at the wedding, it was not well received by the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA), and he was banned by the AICWA as well as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). What’s more is that certain members of the federation have also stated that any actor or industry individual that would associate with the singer would be banned too!
And it looks like the federation have found their next target. It is none other than the Bollywood mega star Salman Khan. For those unaware; Mika was a part of Salman Khan’s tour, Up Close and Personal with Salman Khan in the US. The tour is being organized by the Sultan actors brother, Sohail Khan’s event company in association with Jordy Patel of JA Events in India and Bhavesh Patel in the US.
Talking with Mid-Day, Jordy said,” We are only dealing with Bhavesh Patel as our contract is with him. Some local promoter in the US must have signed on Mika and added him to the line-up. Salman will have nothing to do with Mika at the event. They will not even interact on stage.”
Meanwhile; the general secretary of FWICE, Ashok Dubey maintained his stand on the ban imposed around the singer. Dubey was quoted by a leading tabloid saying,” If we impose a ban, it means all our technicians — including actors, directors, and even spot boys — will not work with Mika. If someone works with Mika during this ban, say Salman or anyone else, then he too will be banned. Whether it’s an organiser from the US or any other country, we cannot stop anybody from conducting an event. Our policy is simple, we will not work with the person who has been banned.”
It certainly would be interesting to see Bhaijaans reaction to the same!
