Bhagyashree became a nationwide rage after Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyaar Kiya alongside Salman Khan. However, despite delivering one of Bollywood’s biggest hits of its times, the actress simply seemed to have disappeared from B’town. But soon news broke out that she has tied the knot with beau Himalaya Dassani and quit films to become a hands-on homemaker and mom to now actor Abhimanyu Dassani.
But now, the actress has decided to return to the world of glamour with two big-ticket films. While one of them is the Prabhas & Pooja Hegde starrer, Radhe Shyam, the other is Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi. While the actress had earlier refused to spill too many details about her role in the film, looks like it no longer is a secret!
Thalaivi is based on the life of the late actress turned politician, Jayalalitha. The film will feature Kangana Ranaut playing the role of the former Tamil Nadu CM and one of the most influential female politician. Meanwhile, Bhagyashree is all set to play Ranaut’s on-screen mother! Yes, you read that right!

A certain source close to these developments has been quoted by Pinkvilla saying, “Bhagyashree will play the character of Jayalalithaa’s mother Vedha, who was christened Sapna when she decided to act in movies. Thalaivi’s mother has an extremely emotional and important role to play in her life. Not many people know about their bonding and much isn’t in public domain about who she was and how she was. So this is an episode of her life that the filmmakers focusing on. Thalaivi traces Jayalalithaa’s journey from her childhood to her becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She was extremely attached to her mother and it’s sad that her mother passed away at a very young age.”
