Actor Anupam Kher has been the only Indian origin actor to be a regular feature in both Hindi films and Hollywood films. He has also been acknowledged for his performances a number of times. Now the actor adds another feather to his cap.
Kher was a part of producer David O Russell’s film Silver Lining’s Playbook along with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Tucker and Jacki Weaver. The film has been garnering a lot of critical acceptation and now the entire ensemble has just won the nomination for Outstanding Performance by a cast in a Motion Picture, for the prestigious 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG).
“As an actor, it is most gratifying to be recognised by one’s peers. Hence this nomination is a high point for me, professionally,” says Kher.
Recipients of the awards will be announced at ceremonies on January 27 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Centre. Director friend Shekhar Kapur Tweeted with excitement, “I feel so proud of @AnupamPkher as he stands amongst d best in world being nominated for SAG award.”
The American award is most famous for being the only major award to be given just for actors, as voted by actors.
