Shahid Kapoor, who has been appreciated for his role as Maharawal Ratan Singh in Padmaavat, has something special planned tomorrow.
The actor will be heading to Singapore for a special screening of the movie. Padmaavat is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which also stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
An NGO, Food From The Heart is organising the event. The non-profit charity feeds the hungry through its food distribution programme.
Established in 2003, by Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer, the NGO channels surplus food from bakeries to those in need. A source says “When Shahid got to know that the screening is being organised by an NGO, he instantly agreed to attend it.” The trip will, however, be a short one. Further adding to it Another source confirms the news, “Yes, Shahid is flying to Singapore tonight for the screening tomorrow. He will be there only for a day.”
The actor recently revealed that the Batti Gul Meter Chalu team will begin shooting soon. “We will start shooting for it in the next 10 days. We have already started table reads for the film. The story is based in Uttarakhand so I will be using a certain accent and dialect for the film. After playing a King, I will be seen as a small city lawyer. Apart from me, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam are part of the film,” he said.
