SCOOP: Was Priyanka Chopra The Reason Behind Salman Khan- Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah Fallout?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been trying to collaborate with Priyanka Chopra for quite a while now after the success of Bajirao Mastani, but looks like nature has something else in store for the actor-director duo! Right from the biopic on the Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi’s love affair to an item number in Inshaallah, things just do not seem to be working out for the two.

While it is being speculated that Abhishek Bachchan refused to work with Priyanka which eventually led to the shelving of the Amrita Pritam biopic, Salman Khan too refused to work with Bhansali on Inshaallah if PeeCee was made to associate with the film in any manner.

The industry rumour mill has it that while the lead pair of Inshallah would be Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra was to feature in a special item number for the film. However, Salman Khan was adamant on having Jai Ho co-star Daisy Shah in place of PC.

A certain source close to these events has been quoted by Masala saying, “Salman put his foot down. He said he wanted Daisy Shah for the number. This was unacceptable to Bhansali. This was the main reason for the fallout.”

For those unaware, Salman and Sanjay were once best friends. Salman supported Bhansali when the latter launched himself as a director in Khamoshi: The Musical. They subsequently worked together in the effervescent Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but fell out when Bhansali opted for Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas.

Meanwhile, after shelving Inshallah and the biopic on lyricist and poetess Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi’s love affair, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now focused himself on Alia Bhatt starrer, Gangubai Kathiwadi.
