Bollywood director and scriptwriter Pankaj Advani passed away early morning on 11th November, 2010, after suffering from a heart attack. The 45 year old, an alumnus of FTII, had directed Sankat City and written the screenplays of Bollywood films, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Cape Karma.
Advani was close to director-writers Kundan Shah and Aziz Mirza. He began his career as a screenplay writer and went on to make his directorial debut with ‘Sankat City’ starring Kay Kay Menon and Anupam Kher in 2009.
The director of Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra. One, Anubhav Sinha, paid his respects to the director, “Rest in Peace Pankaj Advani. A bundle of talent and energy dissolved in to astral space.” Actor Ranvir Shorey mourned his passing with the words, “RIP Pankaj Advani, Writer, Director. Life is so unfair. Almost seems like mankind is made for despair.”
