Even as the nation is going ga ga over Salman Khan and his performance in Dabangg, what is the hero himself doing? Relaxing at home! Strange as it may sound, Salman did not go to any cinema to watch the public reaction to his blockbuster.
The actor who has given the best Eidi to the film industry a day before Eid, woke up only at 4.30 p.m. today, to be given the happy news that his film had opened to bumper response everywhere. He had a late night yesterday as he returned home very late after the premiere of his film. Cool as a cucumber on Friday, Salman refused to leave home throughout the day. His industry friends like director David Dhawan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala came to meet and congratulate him in the evening. All of them had lunch together around 5.30 p.m. when the rest of India may have been having evening tea.
Salman’s sister, heroine Sonakshi Sinha and others went to Chandan Cinema at Juhu in Bombay to watch the film with the audience and returned with stories about how the crowds were going berserk in the cinema hall. Says Salman’s elated secretary, Vikas Kapoor, “Allah and Ganpati Bappa have both blessed Salman Khan.”
