The makers of upcoming film Kick 2 starring superstar Salman Khan have locked Christmas 2019 for the release. The official account of the production company Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment had announced the release date of the second installment of the Kick franchise on Twitter.
Kick, which starred Salman, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Jacqueline Fernandez released in 2014. It was directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie was an official remake of the 2009 Telugu movie Kick and Tamil movie Thillalangadi.
Taking everyone by surprise when the announcement of Kick 2 was made, there was no mention of Jacqueline’s name in the cast. The reason being that Jacqueline is no longer a part of the franchise!
However, Sajid Nadiadwala has now cleared the rumours in a report in DNA. “We had already decided that there would be a sequel. I’ve been writing it for a year now. As I had a lot of other things on my plate, it was taking time. I’ll restart the writing process. We should be ready to roll the movie next year, after Salman finishes all his current films. Kick 2 will release on Christmas 2019.” he said.
“At an event, Salman was handing over the Best Director Award to me and he had said in jest, ‘Kick 2 is ready now, and Jacqueline, you are not there!’ He just joked and news spread that Jackie would be replaced in the film” he further added.
But that’s not all, Sajid confirmed that Jackie will be a part of it, “Once I finish penning the script, I’ll be completely sure. But at present, she’s there in what I’m writing. But it’s too early to talk about it.”
