Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet Ek Prem Katha went on the floors recently and is currently being shot in Mathura. The film which is loosely based on PM Narendra Modi’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, talks about sanitation and hygiene issues in villages.
Alleging that the film has references to Lord Krishna and Radha’s relationship, a saint from Mathura has approached the Mahapanchayat and offered 1 crore rupees to chop of the director’s tongue. According to his complaint, the film insults marriage tradition among villages.
Of course, the makers of the film have maintained that it has no reference to any religious figures.
Toilet Ek Prem Katha is being directed by Shree Narayan Singh and is slated to release next year.
