The biopic based on the life of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma, Saare Jahan Se Achcha is in the headlines ever since it was announced. More than its concept, the movie buffs are rooting to know the actor playing the lead. Apparently, Aamir Khan was the first choice for the role, which went to Shah Rukh Khan. After Khans, Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor’s name were doing the rounds.
Though there’s still no confirmation about the leading face for the biopic, Vicky Kaushal has made a clear statement and put an end to the rumours about him being part of the project. Speaking about his name involved with Saare Jahan Se Achcha, Vicky Kaushal quoted, “I am not attached to the film at all,” reports Deccan Chronicle.
On the work front, Vicky is currently associated with movies like Shaheed Udham Singh biopic, Sam Manekshaw biopic, Bhoot: Part One- The Haunted Ship and Takht.
Recently, his much-lauded film Masaan completed 3 years and on the occasion, the actor reminisced how the film taught him his most important lesson in life.
“For days before we started filming ‘Masaan’, I’d sit here (Manikarnika Ghat, Benaras) for hours at a stretch, quietly watching bodies getting burnt… dark, fair, beautiful, ugly, rich, poor, fat, thin… All of them turning into the same colour of ash. Leaving behind, just their deeds, teaching me the most important lesson of my life,” Vicky wrote on Instagram along with a photograph of the ghat.
