Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra has been the talk of the town ever since its announcement. While the Ayan Mukerjee directorial has been in the making for a while now, its release was further pushed owing to the COVID-19 induced lockdown.
But Brahmastra is clearly not the only film that has been affected. It was only yesterday when reports of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha being postponed started doing rounds. It was reported that some major portions of the film are yet to be shot, as a result of which it was decided that the film would not be able to make it to its original December release.
Now an industry birdie has revealed that since most of Ayan Mukerjee’s Brahmastra is ready and Aamir Khan has moved Laal Singh Chaddha, the film might release in December 2020.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, a certain source has revealed, “Brahmastra is almost complete. Only a few days of patchwork remain which will be wrapped up immediately after the lockdown opens and the Government allows shoots to resume. The team has been simultaneously working on the post-production given that it’s a VFX heavy project. They had locked December 4, 2020 as their release date, but that was also because they didn’t want to clash with Aamir at the theatres.”
The source further said, “Now, with Lal Singh Chaddha pushed to next year, it gives them a clear window during the holiday period and they are looking at it now. The film has been mounted on a lavish scale so a holiday period also means better box office prospects. They won’t announce it yet, they have first decided to wait it out to see how the situation is before making it official. But it’s definitely an idea they are toying with right now.”
Well, fans have eagerly been waiting for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s fantasy thriller to be out for a while now. Directed by Ayan Mukerjee, Brahmastra also features Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and south superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles.
