Smile Foundation’s I Am Kalam won the Audience Choice Award for best feature film at 9th India Film Festival of Los Angeles. If the good news wasn’t enough, then Prince Charles has asked for a special screening of the film at the Buckingham Palace!
Director Nila Madhab Panda, actors Gulshan Grover and Harsh Mayyar, and producer Smile Foundation are more than overjoyed with the news. Smile Foundation, which produced the film, is a national level development organization reaching out to underprivileged children and youth in India through development initiatives on subjects such as education, healthcare, livelihood and girl child & women empowerment. The film has already been screened at international festivals and has received rave reviews and many awards too.
‘I am Kalam’ is the the story of a child, his struggles to pursue his dreams and to surpass the boundaries of reality.
