Dhobi Ghat star Monica Dogra has urged people go vegetarian in a new ad for People For Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Caged with a hen, the vegetarian actress and musician, wants people to “try to relate to who is on their plate, go vegetarian”.
Dogra explains, “I was raised eating meat. Around 12 years old, I remember reading … about factory farming and the way that – particularly chickens at that time – were being treated … and I remember feeling really harrowed and sad.” Dogra claims that her “health improved” and her “weight stabilized” she after abandoned non-vegetarian foodstuffs.
Dogra joins Pamela Anderson, Shahid Kapoor, Sir Paul McCartney, R. Madhavan and Lara Dutta with PETA to promote a vegetarian lifestyle.
