Bollywood biggies Jackie Shroff & Kajol recently came together in Lonavala to create awareness among citizens about tree plantation. The tree plantation drive was organized by Kajol’s Sister Tanisha’s NGO, ‘Stamp’. Also present at the programme was Kajol’s son Yug and her mom & veteran actress, Tanuja.
Despite rains, the actors participated in the programme with whole heart, the celebs were seen dipping their hands in mud as they planted saplings along with the volunteers present there.
After the programme, Jackie spoke to the media present over there, as he stated how important it is to plant trees & youth of our country have to step forward to make sure that by planting trees for future generations to breathe.
The actor in an interview to ANI said, “Planting trees is not just a way to give back to the environment, It is also our responsibility and we are not doing a favour on anyone by planting trees. I showed up my presence for this drive because I am more concerned about the coming generations and the kind of air we give them to breathe.”
He further added, “I would like to request all the youth who comprise of half of the population of India, to step up and understand their job towards the environment, because if they will plant trees, it will not only benefit us in terms of fresh air but healthy living as well.”
It’s indeed getting tougher & tougher to survive on this planet with each passing day because of global warming & pollution which basically are two major threats for Earth and its Inhabitants. And without a doubt, it is deforestation, the root for major threats.
Talking about it, Kajal said, “I read a line somewhere that a single human accounts to seven trees on earth and by taking part in this initiative, we are going to repay back that debt. We owe the earth something and I am very proud of my sister that she has started something like this.”
“I read this line that ‘if trees had WiFi then everybody would be planting them’ and you will be surprised to know that if we plant more trees, we can reverse climate change. So I would like to besiege people to please plant trees either in your vicinity or outside so that we can create a clean tomorrow,” added the actress.
