Ahead of the release of her next film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, actress Janhvi Kapoor has penned a post for her father, Boney Kapoor.
“Me and Gunjan Mam have a couple of things in common; we love dessert, we have long arms, and we have the best fathers in the whole world. My biggest cutest cheerleader. Love you… sorry for troubling you.#tbt to chubbier, fun-er days,” wrote Janhvi.
Along with it, she posted a black-and-white picture, in which we can see Boney Kapoor kissing Janhvi’s hand.
“Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl” is inspired by the life of Indian Air Force combat pilot Gunjan Saxena, who entered the war zone during the 1999 Kargil War. Janhvi plays the titular role of Gunjan Saxena. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza.
Recently, this Janhvi Kapoor starter fell in a controversy. The Indian Air Force (IAF), in a letter addressed to the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, and the streaming platform releasing the film, said that it finds certain scenes in the trailer of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl objectionable. The letter further adds, that while Karan Johar promised to “represent Indian Air Force with authenticity and make all efforts to ensure that the film helps to inspire the next generation of IAF officers”, the trailer tells a different story.
Well, the movie is streaming on Netflix now. Have you guys watched it yet?
