Hrithik Roshan is the Indian Superhero. He is playing Rajvir in Bang Bang. He also is doing Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo-Daro. Being a Superstar often pushes actors in a comfort zone which they find hard to let go and hence stick to doing similar potboilers and stereotypical roles. Hrithik insists on variety. His last was different from Bang Bang and his next film will be far away from it too.
For Hrithik, being successful gives him the power to experiment. In an interview to Koimoi, he told us, “Being a Superstar gives me more power to experiment. It gives me more choices to choose from. Because being a Superstar comes with such power that you don’t need to stick with a certain image. You can experiment with whatever you choose to do. For example I wanted to do a Guzaarish, I went ahead and did that. After Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, I did a Fiza. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was a film about which people said that I am lowering my star value by appearing in such a film. They were worried about my image. But I am not here to build my image. I am here to do good films, I am here for the sake of cinema and be a part of a director’s vision. If I don’t do the film and had she not got the budget in which the film was mounted, the film would have been made in Goa. I must contribute I feel and doing films for the right reasons is my motive.”
The actor was also considered for a bunch of Hollywood projects. The actor is currently reading 5 scripts of Hollywood films as well. But nothing has excited him so far. He admitted, “Yes I am reading almost 5 scripts. But so far Hollywood hasn’t worked out because nothing has excited me as much yet.”
Meanwhile Bang Bang is high on buzz and is expected to see a thunderous opening for its star value. Pitted opposite the ravishing Katrina Kaif, Bang Bang will release alongside Haider on 2nd October.
