Recently when Taapsee Pannu shared her first look from the film Rashmi Rocket it created quite a stir. Netizens gave the look a thumbs up and it was also praised by her contemporaries including Akshay Kumar. Meanwhile, Taapsee has revealed that she has drawn inspiration from Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar for playing the lead in Rashmi Rocket. Read on to know-how.
Rashmi Rocket is a fictional story of a woman from Kutch who aspires of becoming a sprinter. The film follows her journey and is being directed by Akarsh Khurana. The film is not a biopic, which leads to the question where will Taapsee draw inspiration from. When asked, the actress said Priyanka and Farhan.
She also added that she is taking references from real-life sports personalities. “Priyanka and Farhan have set a benchmark with their performances as sports personalities in movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom. I look up to them and want to give my best to this project,” Taapsee told a portal.
For the uninitiated, Priyanka played real-life boxer Mary Kom in her biopic and Farhan embodied athlete Milkha Singh in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and were highly appreciated. As for Taapsee, her last Badla was also a massive hit. She united with her Pink co-star Amitabh Bachchan.
Set to release next year, Rashmi Rocket is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Mango People Media Network. Tapsee will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Saand Ki Aankh starring Bhumi Pednekar.
