As Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan end their 5 year long feud, melting it all down in a hug, Koimoi brings to you the wonderful moments of their friendship to revel in.
I conspicuously remember watching that edition of the Zee Cine Awards way back in 1998 when Shah Rukh humbly handed out his Best Actor Award to the friend who complains about not getting one. Their friendship was warm that Salman went on stage and joked about thanking SRK’s driver et al. It was sweet and humorous, one of their sweetest public memories people held on to while their spat continued.
It is hard to forget their banter from Season 3 of Kaun Banega Crorepati where Shah Rukh said that Salman is family to him. Salim Khan, Salman’s father used to joke about how SRK will become an actor because he eats so frequently at the Khans’ residence. The duo danced famously on their Bhangra Pale track adding a dash of Bihu flavor to it.
Fond memories from Indian Sangeet Awards too flooded our memories. Both SRK and Salman were nominated in the Best Actor-Singer category for Apun Bola (From Josh) and Chandi Ki Daal (From Hello Brother). SRK won but couldn’t stop himself from thanking Salman notably in his speech. He said that he did not sing as well as him but he definitely has a better body than Salman. The audiences loved their camaraderie to the core.
At an Award function in Birmingham, SRK and Salman again took to stage after a long stretch. In his speech, SRK said Salman as the Biggest Superstar in the world and mostly a wonderful human being. SRK professed that Salman and his family have been his stronghold forever.
Though their problems started way back in 2002 when Salman had a fiasco on the sets of SRK starrer Chalte Chalte, the issue saw a terrible culmination on Katrina’s birthday party 5 years back when the two made extremely sniding remarks on each other. But like they say about close friends, it takes one move to fix all wrongs right! We have ran many pieces on SRK and Salman, but none has given such pristine pleasure.
