Sridevi was popularly known as Bollywood’s first female superstar and a Padma Shri awardee. Sridevi, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, took her last breath on 24th February, 2018.
Her passing left the entire nation in shock and disbelief as the autopsy report cited accidental drowning as the cause of death. Now, almost 20 days after the actress’ untimely passing, Meet Brothers and Society held a prayer meet in the city as a tribute to the actress, and Boney Kapoor was present to honour his wife.
He had previously attended a prayer meeting in Chennai, organised by members of the Tamil Film Industry.
The mortal remains of Sridevi was flown back to Mumbai on February 27 and her condolence meet and funeral were organised a day later. She was cremated with state honours.
Sridevi started her career at the age of 4 with the 1967 Tamil film Kandan Karunai. Apart from Hindi, she had starred in several Tamil and Telugu film in her career spanning for over 50 years. Mr India, Himmatwala, Nagina and English Vinglish are some of her best-known films. Mom was her last film. She had also shot for a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, which releases later this December.
