Buzz was that the two much awaited sequels Baahubali 2 and Robot 2.0 will clash at the box office on 14th April, 2017. But now, it has been confirmed by actor Rana Daggubati that this two big-budget flicks will not clash.
Rana, who stars in Baahubali confirmed the news to DNA in an interview and said, “Two big films like Robot 2 and Baahubali 2 can never release on the same day. Also, they are yet to finish shooting and have a lot of work left. Then there is post-production and VFX, which takes up the maximum time for such films. So Robot 2 isn’t releasing in April, but we are definitely releasing our film on April 14 next year.”
Baahubali 2 was initially scheduled to release this year, but was delayed to 2017. Rana explained the reason that although they had shot almost 50 per cent of the second portion before the first half released, the war scenes are bigger and grander now, which is why it is taking a lot of time.
The VFX work this time is something to watch out for, said Rana.
Robot 2 (2.0) is directed by S. Shankar and features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in key roles.
