Akshay Kumar is ready to take on another role as the Canadian Tourism Commission’s ambassador for India. The actor was officially invited by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to the Canadian Presidential House with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh also present. The Khiladi star and his wife Twinkle dined with the Prime Ministers and their wives.

The actor tweeted about this privilege, “Feeling extremely privileged by the honour bestowed upon me by the Canada Tourism Commission to represent Canada tourism in India. I feel a strong connection to this great country and its extremely warm people. It’s truly a memorable moment for me.”

Akshay Kumar was previously the Indian Ambassador for the 2010 Olympic Games and had also carried the torch in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay in Toronto, Canada.

Akshay has a long history with Canada as many of his movies including Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, International Khiladi, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and 8×10 Tasveer were filmed in various parts of Canada. The actor is eagerly looking forward to his film Khatta Meetha due to release on July 23.
