Akshay Kumar’s latest outing, Good Newwz, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kaira Advani and Diljit Dosanjh has been garnering great reviews from the critics so far! And now, as Akshay Kumar marks his second collaboration with Karan Johar in this film after Kesari, the actor has opened up about it.
While it is rather unusual for an actor and producer of Akshay and Karan’s strata to collaborate yet again in such a short span of time, Akshay said, “It’s not often that a producer works with an actor in two such big films in one year. I am guessing that our collaboration is mutual because we admire and respect each other’s work ethic immensely. That’s why we are and want to continue making films together. I am just hoping that one day Karan will want to direct me but he just keeps telling me that I make films too fast. Karan – the Producer loves me, Karan – the Director is hiding from me and my early morning shoots (laughs).”
Furthermore, Akshay who is a die-hard Punjabi at heart is collaborating for the first time with singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh who too is a true Punjabi. Talking about their collaboration, Akshay has been quoted by Bollywood Hungama saying, “Diljit is probably the funniest recluse I have ever met. He is so quiet until you chat in Punjabi with him and then the most wonderful human jumps out before you. But I must say, what comic timing he has.”
Taking a rather unusually humorous route to the concept of IVF, Good Newwz is directed by Raj Mehta and talks about an accidental sperm swap between two couples. The film hit the theaters today.
