Akshay Kumar is on a roll as he is all set to feature in a Hindi remake of another South hit. The actor is currently gearing up for his Independence Day release Mission Mangal and as per the report, he will collaborate with the same director Jagan Shakti.
Apparently, Jagan Shakti was to make his directorial debut in Bollywood with a Hindi remake of AR Murugadoss’ 2014 Tamil Hit, Kaththi, which featured Vijay. The movie was titled Ikka with Akshay Kumar locked for playing a double role but the project got sidelined as Mission Mangal came on board. Now after the completion of space drama, Ikka is set to go on floors very soon.
As per the report in Mumbai Mirror, the filmmaker quoted, “Now Ikka will go on the floors very soon. It will resonate with the underprivileged section of the society. With my second directorial, I want to explore action which is presented in a sleek way.”
Kaththi, released in 2014, depicted the story of a man who fights for the rights of the farmers.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen in upcoming Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and Bachchan Pandey.
