Last week saw the world television premiere of 3 major Bollywood Films, PadMan, Raid and Hichki on three different television channels. Raid premiered on Star Gold, PadMan premiered on Zee Cinema and Hichki premiered on Sony Max. Among the three films, PadMan emerged as the clear winner as the film recorded an impressive BARC rating of 8.6 Million as compared to 7.4 Million by Raid and 6.3 Million by Hichki.
From the audience appeal point of view, PadMan was far lesser commercial compared to Raid and still managed to grab better ratings on the television, however, it will be the repeat screenings that would tell us which of the three film emerges a bigger hit on the small screen. PadMan got a rating of 2.9 Million from the rural belt of India and 5.7 Million from the urban belt, which is quite good. Raid on the other recorded an impression of 2.2 Million in the rural belt and 5.2 Million in the urban belt of India.
From the Box-Office point of view, Raid raked in over Rs 100 crore at the Box-Office, whereas PadMan ended its run close to Rs 85 crore in India.
Baahubali: The Conclusion is proving to be a humongous blockbuster on television as well. The film despite being screened several times on television fetched an extraordinary BARC rating of 10.45 Million. Apart from Baahubali: The Conclusion, Salman Khan multi-starrer, Hum Saath Saath Hai is also another humongous blockbuster on the small screen. The film finds a place in the top 5 film chart on most of the occasions when it is screened on the small screen, which shows the legacy it has earned over the years.
