The ongoing COVID19 pandemic has affected life and business at different levels. The entertainment industry too has been affected by this. Leading to many movies rescheduling their release date or releasing on OTT platforms.
After movies like Laxmmi Bomb, Sadak 2, The Big Bull and others set for a digital release, now Sanjay Dutt starrer Torbaaz too will head in a similar direction.
A source told Mid-Day that Netflix has signed the film and is gearing to release it in October. The source said, “The OTT giant will announce its new slate this week. Torbaaz, which revolves around child suicide bombers in Afghanistan, is one of the many films that it has acquired in the past month. Though the release date of each project has yet to be determined, the Girish Malik directed venture is pacing towards completion.”
If this happens, Torbaaz will be Sanjay Dutt’s third film releasing on an OTT platform after Sadak 2 and Bhuj: The Pride Of India. Both the Mahesh Bahtt and Abhishek Dudhaiya (respectively) directorials will release on Disney+ Hotstar soon.
Talking about Torbaaz, the action thriller directed by Girish Malik will see Sanjay Dutt playing the role of an army officer in the film. The film also stars Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev. The shooting of the film commenced in December 2017 in Afghanistan. Majorly shooting took place in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan – making it the first Indian movie to be shot there.
