Abhay Deol is known for not mincing his words and his various social media posts are proof. In recent events, Deol has slammed one of his own film, Raanjhanaa and called it regressive. His latest Instagram post has already started a conversation about the film on the Internet and below is what the actor had to say.

Abhay Deol took to Instagram as he shared a poster of his film Raanjhanaa alongside Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush. He also shared a fan observation about the film and stated that he agrees with it. He even said that history will not look kindly at the film.

Accusing Aanand L. Rai’s Raanjhanaa of glorifying s*xual harassment, Abhay Deol wrote, “History will not look kindly at this film for its regressive message. It’s been a theme in Bollywood for decades, where a boy can (and should), pursue a girl until she relents.”

“Only in cinema does she do that willfully. In reality, we have seen time and again that it leads to s*xual violence of some sort. Glorifying it on-screen only leads to blaming the victim, as @oldschoolrebel9 explains it so brilliantly. Please do take time out to read her observations,” Abhay Deol added.

The actor’s post about the Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush starrer has initiated a conversation. In the comments section, many netizens are pointing out and criticising the problems with the film. Time and again since its release, Raanjhanaa has been criticised for romanticising stalking.
