It seems that Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth’s 2.0 will take some more time to see the light of day. The makers of 2.0 have postponed the release date several times and now the buzz is that they want to release it on Diwali 2018 alongside Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan.
Earlier, the film was supposed to release on April 27, 2018 but due to Rajinikanth’s Kaala Karikaalan, 2.0 has been delayed for further release.
Now, according to BollywoodLife.com, the makers of 2.0 were planning to release the film on either Independence Day or Diwali 2018. The team is now deciding to release 2.0 on Diwali 2018 but guys, there’s a twist to this!
According to the reports, Lyca Productions doesn’t want 2.0 to clash with Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan. They feel both the films have the potential to do well but if they clash, things won’t work in their favour. They even tried to have a word with Aamir Khan too. But it seems Aamir is no mood to shift his film.
A source revealed to Bollywoodlife.com, “The makers want to release 2.0 during Diwali, so they tried to discuss things with Aamir Khan as his movie – Thugs of Hindostan is scheduled to release on the same day. However, Aamir said a resounding no when they first approached him. The actor feels Diwali is the perfect time to release Thugs and hence, he is holding on to the date.”

A source further added, “After Rajinikanth made a call, the talks have resumed and both Lyca and Aamir along with Yash Raj Films are figuring if something can be done.”
Will Aamir push Thugs of Hindostan for a further release? If you guys remember, he had called Rajinikanth last year after 2.0 shifted from the Diwali slot. He had asked for his permission to release Secret Superstar in their slot, to which Rajinikanth had courteously agreed to.
