Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet has raised many eyebrows right from its interesting star cast to the leading lady Anushka Sharma’s lip job. Though he did not reveal much about the movie but, in a recent interview with Koimoi, he told us the reason behind his mean villain, Karan Johar backing the leads in his directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
When asked whether Karan Johar shared a word with him on the plans of casting Ranbir and Anushka for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anurag said, “No, we did not had conversations! I think he spent a lot of time with them on the set of Bombay Velvet, and he saw there was an amazing chemistry between them. Ranbir and Anushka are like two best friends; they are always seen arguing and fighting constantly on the sets. They have a magical chemistry, and Karan probably saw it and that’s why he cast them like that and based on the story they probably just fit the bill.”
Anurag seems very confident about his Bombay Velvet villain (Karan Johar) and says that the audiences are in for a surprise from Karan as Kaizad Khambatta, a flamboyant, quick-witted, Parsi media mogul with a high-end attitude, who goes on to resurrect his empire. “Karan Johar is unbelievable in the film; you have to wait to be surprised by him,” said Anurag.
