“Deepika had a prior commitment to shoot for an ad in Milan. The shoot had been planned four months ago. Despite her keenness to attend Shah Rukh’s party, it was always known that she wouldn’t be able to make it. She had informed him about the same,” says an insider close to Deepika Padukone.
The trip couldn’t be postponed as immediately after her return, Deepika needs to wrap up Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela and move on to the first schedule of Happy New Year (also co-starring Shah Rukh Khan). She also has Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny Fernandes to shoot for.
“This is the only small window that Deepika saw in the middle of her cramped shooting schedule. So she couldn’t have shifted it,” adds the insider.
Just before leaving for Milan, the actor followed a tradition she has always sworn by. Being an avid devotee of Lord Ganesha, she paid a visit to the Siddhivinayak Temple amidst tight security. Despite repeated attempts, Deepika couldn’t be reached for a comment in Milan.
