Farah Khan and the entire team of Happy New Year, who are busy shooting in Dubai, were present at a press conference yesterday, held in Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm to announce their film’s collaboration with Dubai Film and TV Commission and other Dubai government entities to simplify the entire film making process.

Interestingly, the entire star cast of the film, along with the choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan chose to dress in traditional Arabic attire. While Farah and Deepika Padukone donned Abbaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan and Vivaan Shah wore Kandura .

Apparently, it was actor Abhishek Bachchan’s idea of donning up the local attire and the rest of them gave a nod to it!

Speaking on the same SRK said, “The idea of donning up this local look comes from Abhishek Bachchan so we all would thank him for that. We are happy to be dressed like this… when we looked at mirror, many of us look like locals.”

“Dubai is a beautiful city. It has a great scenic balance of ancient and modern architecture. Its not just the shopping capital of the Middle East but is a perfect location for a film shoot. We have been shooting for our film since September 2nd Dubai is like home for me and I have loved every bit of experience of shooting for Happy New Year here,” he continued!

Deepika said, “Dubai is very special to me. I came here first for Om Shanti Om and it’s great to be back again. The people of Dubai have been so warm to us. It’s been amazing.”
Farah Khan says that Dubai is not only a location, but a character in the film. “Dubai is an integral part in the film. Dubai is a character in the film and not just a city,” she said.
