There would be probably umpteen films that are titled in Hinglish which means Hindi + English. It seems to be a new trend to bring a fresh content with new themes in it. Yes, the filmmakers try to play with the titles to come up with something new but the acid test will come when the audience will assess it. Nowadays, the reason behind putting such quirky titles, it would be easy to connect with the youths and it creates more curiosity among them to watch the movie. By giving such titles it adds up to the spice and twist in the movie that people are looking forward. Well some failed and some have rocked it.
Here are 20 Hinglish movie titles that sounded really interesting:
1. Jab We Met:


An interesting film where two strangers meet in a train journey and later fall in love with each other. This movie was directed by Imtiaz Ali and was a super hit movie of 2009.
2. Love Aaj Kal:


Another movie of Imitiaz Ali, Love Aajkal was a super hit and was quite popular among the youth. Two individuals break up and try to remain friends pretending to be the modern couple who can handle a hassle free break-up only to eventually realise that they’re made of each other.
3. Singham Returns:


Singham Returns is a typical Rohit Shetty movie. Though this movie did not carry that same essence like the first part but still it was approved by the youngsters.
4. Luv ka The End:


The title itself was quite appealing but the movie was not. Luv Ka The End was Shraddha Kapoor’s debut film but is suffered a tough fate at the box office.
5. Shaadi Ke Side Effects:


Shaadi Ke Side Effects was a movie based upon a happily married couple who grapple with the problem of taking the plunge to parenting. There were many comic events in the movie but didn’t do well at the box office. It is the sequel of 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects.
6. Total Siyapaa:


Total Siyapaa didn’t impress the audience and neither the critics. Other than a quirky name and a good star cast, there was less to watch out for in this film.
7. Grand Masti:


The sequel of Masti and being an adult comedy Grand Masti, managed to be in the list of 100 crore club. Even though the film created controversies with its adult nature, it was declared a super hit.
8. Shuddh Desi Romance:


Shuddh Desi Romance is a movie that explored the views of young generation on commitment, live-in relationships and arranged marriages as compared to love marriages in India. Well it didn’t explore much at the box office.
9. Son Of Sardar:


A movie which tried too hard to come out as funny, it did not impress everyone with its humour. The film also had popular songs which helped it to give a decent performance at the box office.
10. Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns:


Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster was a Bollywood thriller drama which won a lot of critical acclaim. It managed to perform better than its prequel.
11. Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara:


The sequel failed miserably at the box office. OUATIMD received negative responses from the critics and even the audiences did not quite receive it well.
12. Kill Dil:


The latest movie of 2014 from Yash Raj Production has done below average at the box office. With an outdated storyline about 2 orphans raised under a local gangster how their life takes a turn when a quirky girl enters their life was pretty much yawnsome.
13. Ek Villain:


Hmm.. Well, we all know what happens when a bad guy meets a good girl. It was declared a super hit at the box office and of course, the songs too.
14. Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl:


A guy who just loves to con girls. Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl was a movie inspired by a Jeffery Archer’s novel. What we loved in the film most was of course Ranveer Singh’s charm.
15. Double Dhamaal:


It is a thing where the sequel always fail from the prequel. Well the same thing happened in case of Double Dhamaal comedy. It was counted as a moderate success at the box office.
16. Darr @ The Mall:


Well…I don’t know what to say. They tried too hard to sound interesting but it didn’t help. Darr @ The Mall just wasn’t scary.
17. Super Nani:


A movie shows us the importance of a mother’s work and how we need to respect that, Super Naani had a good story. Though the plot was nice execution was quite below average.
18. Tanu Weds Manu:


The quirky story of Tanu and Manu who meet through an arrange marriage set up was highly entertaining . It was successful at the box office.
19. Jodi Breakers:


A guy who is a divorce manager and with a lady who joins him as a partner in crime, the film had a unique storyline. Well the movie had the potential of making a fine romantic comedy but it regrettably didn’t work that way.
20. The Shaukeens:


The latest release of 2014 starred Akshay Kumar in a cameo role. The Shaukeens was a remake of 1982 Shaukeens but it didn’t do well at the box office.
