There were rumors flying around that Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Once Again, which has been pushed ahead of its Diwali clash with Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, has been finalized for the Republic Day release next year. A couple of dates floating around were 22nd January, which is Friday, and 26th January, Tuesday, which would be mid-week. That would have brought the film in straight competition with Akshay Kumar’s Airlift, which had already booked its arrival for 22nd January some months in advance.
Though it has turned out that there is no truth to the rumor as the clash is not happening. Instead, the film would be arriving a week earlier, on 15th January.
Confirms our source, “There was no reason why Sunny would have brought his film in the same week as the Akshay starrer. Yes, agreed that it is a huge week, considering the fact that any major release would enjoy a weekend of almost five days, as only one working day (Monday) falls in between. However, Akshay’s Airlift is already confirmed for the week and Sunny won’t just avoid one major clash, only to step into another.”
When contacted, Soha Ali Khan, leading lady of Ghayal Once Again, she confirmed, “Yes, we are coming on 15th January. It is going to be one mega start to the year for sure. Expect a dramatic encounter.”
That should settle all rumors. Now here is looking forward to a big start for Bollywood in 2016.
