Akshay Kumar has started shooting for his upcoming film ‘Airlift‘. The film which revolves around the story of Akshay playing a business tycoon from Kuwait named Ranjit Katyal who becomes the hope of 1,70,000 Indians stranded at Kuwait. The film will be about how Ranjit rescues them as they travel thousand kilometers across the border into Amman, Jordan. From Amman, 1,70,000 Indians were brought home by the largest evacuation ever attempted by any country. Airllift will be recreating this crucial moment in the film as they narrate the spine chilling incident.

The filming of Airlift has started in Ras-Al-Khaimah which is quite similar to Kuwait since the director has to recreate locations of 1990s Kuwait and Baghdad. The film stars Nimrat Kaur alongside Akshay Kumar. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Nikhil Advani, the film is slated to release on 22nd January, 2016.
