The trailer of much-talked about Shamitabh released yesterday and well, what can I say it is full of what can be called as ‘mixture’. The film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in the lead roles has its trailer looking impressive as both pack a strong screen presence. The leading lady in the film is petite and pretty, Akshara Haasan, who marks her debut with Shamitabh.

Previously director R Balki and Amitabh Bachchan have teamed up for two films which have their own unique standing, while Paa was an emotional ride, Cheeni Kum with its quirk and freshness was a novel story. This time the duo seem to have gone a notch further as they roped in South superstar Dhanush with them.

The trailer shows a clear journey of Dhanush’s character’s journey to stardom as he sprints from being a local boy to becoming the most sought after star. Amidst all this Big B with his heavy bearded look steals the show with his amazing ‘scotch and paani’ dialogue. Constantly, both are seen belittling each other as they try to prove who is the bigger star among them. The background score is lovely and it certainly gave the trailer a good push. Akshara Haasan is not seen in many frames in the trailer and seems to be having a smaller role.

This trailer rides on curiosity and the haphazardness of the story leaves us intrigued. The film’s title itself being a mixture, one of the film’s dialogue rightly says ‘This is not a picture, its mixture’. Written and directed by R Balki, the film certainly has a lot of expectations latched onto it and while Big B has had a dry spell lately with not much response for Bhoothnath Returns, this one could definitely be his deal breaker. Also this being Dhanush’s second outing in Bollywood, the actor seems to be ready with another firecracker performance.
