Excel Entertainment’s much talked about film Raees, that stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, is all set to hit the screens next year. The producers have booked Eid 2016 for this Rahul Dholakia directorial.
Raees is a story about a cruel and clever bootlegger, who finds him in trouble when a brave cop starts chasing him. Nawaz will play the cop, which was initially signed by Farhan Akhtar. But Akhtar opted out last year because of date issues, thus bringing on board Nawaz. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who will make her Bollywood debut with Raees, will be the female lead in the film. The film has already gone on floors.
Raees will be co-produced by SRK’s production house – Red Chillies Entertainment.
