The grand magnificent set which was built for the ‘Deewani Mastani‘ track from ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ is the grandest thing for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The track seems inspired by ‘Mughal-E-Azam‘ and its classic song ‘Jab Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya‘.

The set of the track which was created by taking the inspiration from Lahore’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ got the maximum numbers of visitors at Filmcity in Mumbai. Great amount of work went into creating this set and after the picturization of the song, the makers didn’t have the heart to dismantle it. They decided to let the visitors come and witness what kind of effort goes in creating such master-pieces.

The Deewani Mastani track features Mastani (Deepika Padukone) who is dancing for Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) and Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) his first wife looks on from the women’s chamber. This track is a tribute to K Asif’s Mughale-E-Azam song Jab Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya where Anarkali openly challenges Emperor Akbar by declaring her love for his son Prince Salim.

Deepika in an interview said that the song is inspired by Mughal-E-Azam and they’ve tried to recreate the Aaina Mahal (mirror palace), but it’s a Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s contemporary version where Mastani is completely mesmerized by Bajirao and is madly in love with him.

Bajirao Mastani is slated to release on 18th December 2015.
