Actress Radhika Apte is climbing up the success ladder quite quick. The year seems to have been her lucky one so far with an impressive line up of films like Badlapur, Hunterrr and the recently acclaimed short film Ahalya by Sujoy Ghosh. Other than being delighted with the responses she received for the film, Radhika was rather excited about working with the veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee.
Talking about her experience to IANS, she said, “I’ve been his (Chatterjee) fan since my college days, when I saw his films at a Satyajit Ray film festival. Since then, I’ve always been in awe and never thought that I’ll be able to work with him.”
“I got the opportunity a couple of years ago to work with him in a Bengali film. I thought that was my one and only opportunity. But this time (‘Ahalya‘), we were friends since we already knew each other having worked together. And I wasn’t nervous at all. So it was a fangirl moment for me,” said the 29 year old actress.
Radhika will be next seen in Manjhi -The Mountain Man with Nawazuddin Siddiqui which is slated to release next month.
