The versatile actress Radhika Apte, who has graced in the southern films like Dhoni and Legend, is reportedly being roped in for superstar Rajinikanth’s yet-untitled 159th film, which will go on floors in Malaysia this August.
“Radhika has been approached to play the leading lady, but nothing has been finalized yet. The first round of talks has happened,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
To be directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film will star Rajinikanth in the role of a gangster. The rest of the cast yet to be finalised.
In the first week of August, the crew will leave to Malaysia for over a month-long shoot.
The movie is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, and the music is composed by Santosh Narayanan.
Radhika Apte was last seen in Balakrishna’s Lion. Currently, the actress is in the news for her forthcoming film Manjhi : The Mountain Man opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sujoy Ghosh’s Bengali short film ‘Ahalya’.
