When the news of Priyanka Chopra starring in an International TV series hit the news stands, there naturally was a lot of buzz surrounding it. Especially since Priyanka Chopra had already made herself an international music icon recently. Well, the ABC series Quantico started off this Saturday and there is every reason for us to be proud of the fact that Pee Cee has a prime time series in her kitty which does not even have a remotely racial twist to her character. The best part about her playing Alex Parrish is the fact that there is no ‘Indian’ or ‘Asian’ tag to it.

The first episode of the series was aired this weekend in India and it certainly has substance. Shuttling in between the present and the past, we see Alex’s journey as she joins the FBI academy and in the present scenario how she is being framed as a terrorist. Of course, we still don’t know if she is guilty or innocent and we will have to follow the season to find that out.

Priyanka looks confident and while some may have found her intimate car scene a little hiccup, there is much more to it. A little disappointment looms over the first episode because of its hotch potch when it comes to the introductions of the characters. Yet, the gripping first episode has a lot on its plate as we see, sex, suicide, lie-detector tests and hidden truths.

With a prime time slot, Priyanka is competing with brilliant ladies such as Viola Davis and Kerry Washington whose TV series ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ and ‘Scandal’ are Emmy winners.

Well, Qauntico has certainly set its standard high, let’s see what the next episode has in store.
