Even as a clash between ‘Raees‘ & ‘Sultan‘ is being talked about within Bollywood, producer of former Shah Rukh Khan starrer hinted at reconsidering the film’s release. Speaking to the press ahead of the release of their forthcoming film ‘Bangistan’, Sidhwani said, ‘Once both the film are done, we will sit & talk. Several films are announced but then they (release dates) are moved too.
Co producer of ‘Raees’, Farhan Akhtar appeared surprised when it’s release date of Eid 2016 was called a ‘clash’. His partner, Sidhwani, further added, “Eid is next year and our film just has 20 days of shooting left. We’re working so that the film comes on Eid, because it is that kind of a film. Even they (the ‘Sultan’ team) will also try for a similar plan but first let the shooting of their film begin and then we’ll see. There is no specific intention to have a clash.”
‘Raees’ stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in leading roles. With an enticing trailer released, this Rahul Dholakia directorial venture has already piqued interest. Additionally, ‘Sultan’ stars Salman Khan as a wrestler. With both it’s heroes, the Khans, are now new found BFFs of sorts, wishing each other luck for their Eid releases, it only logical that producers of both films would want to avoid the same date of release. Dividing audiences & screens around Khan releases doesn’t bode well for the business of Bollywood!
