While there were speculations doing the rounds that filmmakers Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty have finalized the cast for the remake of director Subhash Ghai’s 1989 film, Ram Lakhan, KJo clarified the rumours and tweeted saying “While Rohit and I are extremely excited with the excitement RAM LAKHAN has generated….we would like to say…IT HAS NOT BEEN CAST!!!.”
Buzz was that Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will feature in the remake, however, Karan Johar has confirmed that the actors along with veteran star Rishi Kapoor are going to be a part of Dharma Productions’ next which has been titled Kapoor & Sons.
Directed by Shakun Batra, the film is modern family drama with a love triangle. While Dharma is home to actors Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, this is first time India’s recent heartthrob from Pakistan, Fawad, will be working with the production house.
The release date for the film is yet to be announced.
