Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming film Madras Cafe starring John Abraham has already ran into trouble over its release in Tamil Nadu. After a special screening of the film, an activist group named Naam Tamizhar has pledged not to allow the film release in the state.

Citing the reason that the film shows LTTE leaders as terrorists and portrays late Tamil leader Prabhakaran in an improper light which has a tinge of Anti Tamil sentiment in it.

The Tamilians, who hail Prabhakaran as a martyr who sacrificed his life for the cause of Lankan Tamils, have taken offence to the film. Though both John Abraham and Shoojit Sircar have made it clear that their film doesn’t take any sides and is primarily a humane story, there is still a high chance that it may face massive resistance in Tamil Nadu for release.

Scheduled to release on 23rd August, the film has the aura of a gritty thriller!
