The 62nd National Film Awards were announced today. This coveted awards celebrated the best contributions of cinema in the year. Chaitanya Tamhane’s multi-lingual debut feature Court, which released in Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi, English won the Best Feature film award. Among the other big honours, Best Actress Award was won by Kangana Ranaut for Queen while South sensation Vijay won the Best Actor honor for Nan Avanalla Avalu his Kannada film. Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom was given the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment. Also Shahid Kapoor’s Haider swept four awards for Best Costume Designer, Best Music Direction, Best Choreography and Best Male Playback Singer.
