I Love NY could well be a thing of the past, even as Kangana Ranaut has moved on. It is time for her to look forward to Katti Batti. While the promo of the film has been online for quite some time now, there is further good news for all associated with the film. There is a good chance that the film would now be arriving solo as its only competition for the week, Arshad Warsi’s Fraud Saiyaan, which was earlier slated to arrive on the same day (18th September), could well be opting for another date.
“Arshad has finished shooting for Fraud Saiyaan which is a Prakash Jha production. Earlier, it was slated for 18th September. However, it is Nikhil Advani’s Katti Batti which has taken the lead when it comes to the promotion and marketing,” informs our source, “With Kangana riding high on the All Time Blockbuster success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the makers of Katti Batti are in a buoyant mood. As a matter of fact, they have also started releasing a series of shorts from the film, which are basically clippings featuring Imran and Kangana.”
While there is definite momentum shown by team Katti Batti, there is a plan being put together by the makers of Fraud Saiyaan. Though they haven’t yet let go of the claim for 18th September arrival, the date is not confirmed either.
Arshad Warsi, who plays as good as eight different characters in the film (by virtue of him being married to eight women at the same time), is quite excited about the film though. He says, “Fraud Saiyaan is a very interesting film and I am playing some really unusual characters. It is a first of its kind film for me and I do believe that people will really like it.”
However, one still waits for the promo of the film, which marks the directorial debut of Sourabh Shrivastava, to arrive. When contacted, Prakash Jha said that the release date for the film is not yet confirmed. As for UTV and Nikhil Advani, they are going full throttle to make sure that Katti Batti turns out to be an ideal follow up film for Kangana, while also bringing back Imran Khan on the big screen.
