Piyush Mishra isn’t an ordinary National School Of Drama pass out. Actor, Lyricist, singer and more, the actor who is all set to feature in Revolver Rani is only of praise for his resplendent co-actor Kangana Ranaut. While last year belonged to Deepika Padukone, this year is turning out to just as fertile for Kangana Ranaut. A pitch perfect performance in Queen has catapulted her ahead of most of her contemporaries and Revolver Rani will stir in some versatility in her brilliance.
In an interview with Koimoi, when Mishra was asked about Kangana, he beamed up and replied, “I play Kangana’s maternal uncle in the film. My character is a queen maker’s in this case and how Kangana’s love track creates conflict between me and her. It was sheer delight working with her.”
He continued, “I am basically a NSD (National School Of Drama) guy. The problem with us is that a background of this order has made us excessively pseudo in our way of thinking. We overthink, over interpret. But Kangana’s simplicity was almost inspirational. I used to observe her on sets to track what kind of preparation would she do, how she would approach. She wouldn’t do a thing and deliver so perfectly still.”
Mishra who was last seen in notable films like Maqbool and Gangs of Wasseypur seems to have been blown over by the new Queen of the industry. He said, “There are basically two emotions to evoke via acting – laugh and cry. And simplicity is probably the best to convey it. Obviously there are multiple interpretations ranging from Marxian to Feminist but a real performance is laced in plainness and lucidness. Kangana really inspired me.”
Revolver Rani stars Kangana Ranaut and Vir Das along with Piyush Mishra and is a dark comedy which will release on 25th April.
