The hard to miss thing about the Heropanti trailer is invariably its action. The rightly toned stunts are not only well pitched but also well framed. But sadly action isn’t enough to drive a film through. Sadly, Heropanti thrives solely on using its lead man – Tiger Shroff’s best attributes in selling the film’s first trailer. And given the Indian masses’ love and appetite for films of this order, I won’t be surprised if it works.
Though it is very early to still comment on the Tiger Shroff’s acting abilities, the punchlines don’t quite win. Baby Shroff is almost expressionless, be it in his wrath or romantic avatar, the guy’s expressions aren’t quite flattering.
The film essentially tells a tale of an impossible love story in a turbulent land. The boy-meets-girl funda stretches on the lines of Maine Dil Tujhko Diya probably. A word for Kirti Sanon, she looks resplendent in most scenes and that might be just another forte of the film. But her chemistry with Tiger doesn’t look vivacious or zesty which can prove hindering as well.
Young talent is finding space in the industry very readily. Though usually legacy guarantees it, the scope for younger folk has been widening. With success of films like Yaariyaan and Fukrey, the audiences are welcoming films of younger stars which is beneficial for them.
To put it very plainly, Heropanti isn’t a brilliant or even a great trailer. The best moments of it are the ones in which Tiger’s slick smash-thrash ways. And the guy is brilliant at it. The film’s fantastic action can probably turn out to be a crowd puller alone. Let’s just put it this way, Vidyut Jamwal has found a match finally.
