The trailer of Salman Khan’s production Hero starring debutantes Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty has been released. Hero is a remake of the 80s film by the same name directed by Subhash Ghai. Considering there is always a dearth of fresh scripts in Bollywood, newbies are left with nothing other than remakes for their debuts.
Filmmaker Nikhil Advani seems to be taking the easy way out with this film as minor changes in the script seem to have been undertaken looking at the trailer.
Talking about the high points for Hero, there are three main things that will work in favor of this film. First and foremost, the music seems to be quite the massy type, which will find instant connect with the Ankit Tiwari song-generation. Secondly, Sooraj Pancholi makes quite an impressive appearance on-screen. His dialogue delivery seems strong for a debutante and thanks to his controversial background, there will be enough buzz around his debut. Third thing that will definitely work for Hero is the fact that it has a Salman Khan backbone attached to it. The actor’s production will certainly have a good promotional strategy to help soar this otherwise average drama.
The trailer has nothing unexpected or unpredictable about it. Everyone who has seen Hero – the original will instantly realize it is the perfect remake except now with an urban touch. The only problem being, now that we are in the times of films like Piku and Badlapur, how much can this run-of-the-mill plot survive.
So for all those who love their usual dose of rom-coms, Hero will work.
